Beyonce parted professional ways with her father Matthew Knowles in 2011 but it’s now emerged that there may be more to things than initially thought as Matthew reveals in a new interview.

At the time of the split both parties insisted it was strictly a business matter although rumours of a rift between father and daughter swiftly started and now the entrepreneur has revealed it was ‘incredibly painful’.
Keen to express what really happened Matthew spoke to The Sun saying: ‘This was not a normal ending of a business agreement. This was a dad and a daughter and it was incredibly painful and it had some difficulties.’

‘It was hard for me to let her go — it was hard for both of us to let each other go. And let’s be clear on that. She didn’t let me go, we both let each other go. That’s a big difference.'
It’s widely speculated that Matthew is yet to meet his granddaughter, Blue Ivy although he was quick to say how he adored being a granddad adding: ‘The beauty of being a granddad is you can always give them back. You get to do all the fun stuff and not the harder things.'
He went on to say he has hopes to one day manage Beyoncé's career again although it appears unlikely as the singer previously spoke about her own turmoil over parting ways with her father.

Speaking to Oprah Winfrey recently she said: 'One of the hardest things I've ever done [was letting him go]. Someone you love, someone that's given you life... someone that did a fantastic job. It's hard.’
She also touched on the situation during her documentary, saying: ‘I’m feeling very empty because of my relationship with my dad. And I’m so fragile at this point and I feel like my soul has been tarnished.
'Life is unpredictable but I feel like I had to move on, and not work with my dad. And I don’t care if I don’t sell one record. It’s bigger than the record, it’s bigger than my career.’
We hope they can find a way to make amends soon!
