The trailer for 2016’s big blockbuster is out, and we’ve got your first look here…
Four months until the cinematic release of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, (starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill – as if you'd forgotten THAT) and the official trailer has officially arrived. Set to be one of the biggest films of 2016 the movie also marks the first time two of the most famous superheroes in comic book history will feature in the same film.
Featuring the first interaction we've seen between Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) - the alter egos of Batman and Superman respectively - the film looks to be a tense showdown between the twosome as their differing views on how to dole out justice leads them to clash. Ben's more mature Bruce Wayne even throws out a couple of stingers to Superman, saying 'We have a bad history of freaks dressed like clowns.' Ouch.
The trailer also gives our first look at Jesse Eisenberg's take on Lex Luthor, Superman's biggest foe and the antagonist of the film. Giving off a frazzled and psychotic take on the character, Jesse's signature delivery has him pitting the two superheroes against each other.
The movie also introduces Wonder Woman to the franchise, with Gal Gadot stepping up to play the iconic female hero – which we're totally looking forward to her bossing it on the big screen. She already gets a great introduction in the trailer, saving Batman from certain death and with Superman and the Bat reacting hilariously, asking each other, 'Is she with you?'
The epic trailer comes after a sneak peek of the film was released. Starting out in a dusty jail, the sneak peek - which has been released prior to the full trailer tomorrow - shows Batman chained to a ceiling alongside unfamiliar inmates. As soldiers bend the knee to an ominously dark Superman, the iconic superhero stares down Batman, pulling off his mask to reveal Bruce Wayne staring back at him.
I mean, we have no idea what this all means but excited, much?!

While it’s only been three years since we last saw the Dark Knight grace our screens (Christian Bale, we do miss you), this is the first time we’ll see Ben Affleck’s version of the Caped Crusader. Whilst the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy depicted a Batman in his early thirties, Ben’s Batman – or as fans have lovingly dubbed him ‘Batfleck’ – fast-forwards to show the character in his mid-40s, much closer to Affleck's age.
While not much is known about the film’s plot, it is expected to follow after the events of 2013’s Man Of Steel, with Gotham city’s vigilante heading to Metropolis to stop Superman, afraid that his alien abilities will cause even more deaths than in the first film.
And after Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad also due to be released in 2016, Wonder Woman will also be getting her first solo movie. Due to be released in 2017, and directed by Patty Jenkins, the film will mark the first time Wonder Woman has headlined her own film and a woman has helmed a comic book movie for the big screen. So yeah, roll on 2017!
