Balmain’s New Campaign Features Three Iconic 90's Supermodels Looking Hotter Than Ever
The supermodels are out in force.
The supermodels are out in force.
In a surprise move, Olivier Rousteing has ditched Kendall, Gigi and Bella in favour of Cindy, Naomi and Claudia for the Balmain’s latest SS16 campaign and they are looking HOTTER than ever.
The enigmatic designer who is usually surrounded by a gaggle of the newest supers on the block has gone old skool for a change and recruited three of the original 90s fashion icons to star in the campaign. In true Balmain fashion the campaign images were released through Instagram to Olivier’s 2 million strong army of followers with a hashtag happy caption featuring the prophetic #thisisHISTORY.
The campaign – which was shot in black and white by legendary photographer Steven Klein - sees all Claudia, Cindy and Naomi - who are in all their 40's - posing powerfully in the designer’s signature body-conscious creations. The designer told Vogue US that the campaign marked a new chapter for the brand which will see it go back to it’s roots.
‘I felt like I was dreaming as I was watching the photo shoot, because I knew it was going to be something iconic that I would never forget,’ he said.
‘You realize working with them; it’s another way than working with the models of today. They know so much about themselves. Their career is so strong. They know their bodies so well. They move at the same time that the camera is moving. Steven also knows them so well, so it was such a good synergy.’ We won't tell the Hadids if you don't.
