Less than a month after going their separate ways, singer Ashlee Simpson and rocker Pete Wentz are reportedly gearing up for a custody battle, after failing to agree on childcare arrangements.
It’s thought Ashlee was the first to instigate proceedings when they split in February, filing for divorce and citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the break-up.
And although initial talk suggested the split was amicable, it now seems set to turn ugly as the pair – who have one son, Bronx Mowgli - reportedly prepare to face the courts.
Rumours suggest Pete and Ashlee failed to agree on shared custody of their son, and have now filed separate divorce petitions, each with their own demands.
It’s thought Ashlee has agreed to joint legal custody of baby Bronx, but wants sole physical custody of the two-year-old, allowing her ex-hubby only visitation rights.

Following the split, friends of Pete and Ashley played down reports there would be a custody battle, revealing: ‘It's all about [their 2-year-old son] Bronx for them. They're fantastic parents – Pete says she's a great mom, and she says he's a great father.
‘It's about Bronx's care and well-being and happiness for them.’
