Hollywood power couple Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have announced they are to split, after 25 years of marriage.
The TV journalist and actor-turned politician – who married in 1986 – revealed the news in a shock statement yesterday, which confirmed they are ‘living apart’ while they work on their relationship.
‘This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us,’ the official joint announcement read.
‘After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together. ‘At this time, we are living apart, while we work on the future of our relationship. We are continuing to parent our children together. They are the light and the centre of both of our lives.’
The couple have four children together, Katherine, 21 Christina, 20. Patrick, 18 and 14-year-old Christopher, and in the past, have often attended public at events as a family.

In 2003, Maria defended her action-man hubby over allegations of him groping women, during his successful political campaign to become Governor of California.
The former star left office in January, and has reportedly signed a 3-movie deal to reprise his role in famous Terminator series.
