The A-list actress had made no secret of her wish to star in the musical show, revealing to US show host Jimmy Fallon back in November that she's a huge fan.
‘In my head, I’ve written a part for myself on ‘Glee.’… In my head I’ve cast myself on ‘Glee’ and I know what song I’d sing,’ she joked.
‘I would wanna play Kurt’s long-lost aunt, his mother’s sister who is also gay, who comes back to help him deal with his sexuality, and I would sing, You Are Not Alone from Stephen Sondheim’s epic show Into the Woods.’
And it seems Anne’s wish is about to come true. According to reports, the brunette beauty met Glee creator Ryan Murphy - and the rest of the cast - at Hollywood’s glittering Golden Globe Awards yesterday, and the pair set up a cameo.

‘It is true’ Ryan told Access at the star-studded FOX post-Golden Globes party. ‘She said it in the press that she wants to play Chris Colfer’s lesbian aunt.’
Revealing how the cameo came about, he said: ‘She walked by our table and we have a mutual friend and I said, “Do you really want to do it?” And she said, “I do.” And I said, “OK, we’re gonna do it.”
'I think we’ll do it probably in a month and a half or so… I have to talk to Anne about what she wants to sing,’ he added. ‘I’m sure she has ideas,' he said. ‘I’m excited about that.’
And Glee’s Chris Colfer – who took home the gong for Best Supporting Actor in a TV series at the Globes last night – now has more than one cause for celebration.
‘[I’m] so excited,’ he told reporters on finding out he’s set to star with Anne. ‘[I found out] tonight — when Ryan announced it backstage when we were doing press,
‘She wants to do ‘You’re Not Alone,’ from ‘In The Woods,’ which I’m all for,’ he added. ‘I’m so excited. I love her and I worship her.’
