Anne Hathaway welcomed her first child with her husband, Adam Shulman, last year. The couple have been married for five years and are parents to one year-old son, Jonathan, but following Anne's decision to take a break from social media earlier this year she has been quite quiet about her personal life.
However, she recently chose to open up about how motherhood has changed her.
'I'm happy when things are simple. Since having a kid, I find it a lot easier to do that,' she revealed.
'The day begins with a checklist: Is he breathing? Is he healthy? Is he growing? Is he thriving? If I get four yeses it's really hard to upset my day.'
The 34 year-old actress also told the Metro newspaper that she wasn't 'satisfied' before becoming a parent.

'I just wasn't feeling satisfied by the other stuff. It was too stressful and kept me at a distance from things that I loved... I think I was searching like everybody for greater peace.'
Anne rose to fame following her role in The Princess Diaries back in 2001, and has since starred in plenty of high profile Hollywood movies, including The Devil Wears Prada and Brokeback Mountain.
But she recently revealed that she learnt the most after working on One Day, the movie adaptation of David Nicholls' novel, explaining that she felt ashamed for not trusting a female director.
'When I get a script, when I see a first film directed by a woman, I have in the past focused on what was wrong with it. And when I see a film directed by a man, I focus on what’s right with it,' Anne admitted.
'I can only acknowledge that I’ve done that and I don’t want to do that any more.'
