Maleficent star Angelina Jolie had a 'simple' 37th birthday in the UK with Brad Pitt and their six children.

Angelina Jolie's 37th birthday bash was relatively low key by Hollywood standards.

The actress kept things understated with a small family gathering on June 4 at Wentworth Estate in Surrey, the mansion that the Jolie-Pitt's are currently renting.

'It was a very small bash - just the family at home. They didn't go out or do anything,' a source told US Magazine.

'Just a simple one at home with a cake. No frills, but they're all really happy at the moment. Everyone's doing good.'

Well we're glad to hear there was cake at least!

What hasn't yet been revealed is what Brad Pitt bought his fiancee for her birthday. Considering that Angelina Jolie bought him a waterfall for this 48th birthday, we're hoping it was something big. And shiny.

Angelina Jolie is currently based in the UK working on Disney's Maleficent, the movie based on the bad fairy from Sleeping Beauty.

Brad Pitt will be leaving his bride-to-be and returning to Budapest later this month to re-shoot scenes for his epic zombie flick, 'World War Z'.

According to US Magazine, the Jolie-Pitt brood of Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox will stay in Surrey with their mum.
