The Amazing Spider-Man's Andrew Garfield opens up on his romance with Emma Stone
The Amazing Spider-Man is one of summer’s most eagerly-anticipated film blockbusters, and yet we’re more interested in the budding off-screen romance of its stars, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
In a revealing interview with MTV, Andrew Garfield, who plays Spider-Man and his alter ego Peter Parker in the film, explains how he knew he had something special with co-star Emma Stone from the moment they met at auditions for the big budget comic book flick.
He said: 'We got on really well as people, in between takes. That was the fun stuff. In between, we'd just mess around and I felt, "Ah, this is different". I wasn't really aware of what was happening in the screen test. She keeps you on your toes and that wakes you up. That was the beginning.'

He goes on to reveal that he was thrilled when he learnt that Emma had accepted the part of Gwen Stacy – Spider-Man's first love.
'Obviously I was so happy that she got the role and decided to do it,' he explained. 'Those are the days I'd look forward to, you know? For [my character] Peter as well, because Peter goes through some horrible stuff in the movie. There's some joy to be had when experiencing his first love.'
