EXCLUSIVE! Amanda Seyfried opens up about Anne Hathaway’s drastic weight loss
Anne Hathaway diminished in size as she committed to drastic weight loss for her role in Les Miserables, but her co-star Amanda Seyfried says she struggles to understand it.
ANNE HATHAWAY DEVASTATED AFTER WARDROBE MALFUNCTION
As the cast arrived in London to promote the screen adaptation of the hit musical, Amanda Seyfried who plays Cosette, spoke to Marie Claire online and we asked if she was relived that she didn’t have to lose weight or cut off her hair as Anne did.
Amanda told us: ‘I would have probably done anything [for the Les Mis part] but I find it hard to get my head around losing weight for a role.
‘Maybe I wouldn’t play Fantine. I knew that she [Anne Hathaway] can do that, and I aspire to that. I didn’t have to go to the depths of hell for my character so I was able to stay light the whole time.’

Clearly Anne made a strong impression of Amanda! And her love for her co-stars and the musical didn’t end there as Amanda added: ‘I would have played any character, I would have played Javier.
‘It was so easy to relate to each other because we were all jumping out of an aeroplane together. We were all terrified to be singing live and we were all exposed, we all fought for the roles even Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe.’
It’s certainly a fight that paid off.
