Pippa Middleton's favourite designer Alice Temperley has lashed out at designers who pay celebrities to sit on the front row at their fashion shows, calling the practice 'barbaric'.
The designer made her feelings known at the launch of her Somerset by Temperley collection for John Lewis last week. According to the Sunday Telegraph, the designer said:
'Paying celebrities? I think there is a lot more of that going on than people think goes on. I think that paying somebody to come to the front row of your show is a kind of barbaric thing.'

A favourite of the Middleton sisters, Pippa previously sat on the Temperley London SS/12 front row alongside Peaches Geldolf and Rosario Dawson.
However, reports by the Sunday Telegraph suggest that Alice Temperley doesn't believe celebrities should endorse a designer:

'Unfortunately, the world is sort of obessed with celebrity and I don't think it should be like that. It's a waste - the clothes should speak for themselves; it should be about what is on the catwalk. People pay for endorsement at the Oscars, so most girls are tied up in contracts for clothes and jewellery.'
