The pair are reportedly furious after being booted off the show
Presenters Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakely have been axed from Daybreak, according to reports, after desperate bosses ordered a last-ditch overhaul of the love-or-hate breakfast show.
It’s thought the pair were told of the news last week, but promised they would leave 'with dignity intact' and would not be replaced until the New Year.
But reports suggest the ex-One Show stars were left furious over the weekend, after news of their sacking was leaked.
Bleakley even took to Twitter to express her anger, Tweeting: ‘Morning, what a lovely headline to wake up to. My sarcasm comes across in this tweet I hope.’
The cursed programme has been hemorrhaging viewers since it launched last year, with figures dropping as low as 600,000 – less than predecessor GMTV - prompting producers to hold emergency crisis talks over how to save the sorry show.
Now it seems bosses decided it was time to make some radical changes in a last-ditch attempt to win over the audience and stop the steady flow of viewers switching off or switching over – and axed the lead pair from the show.

It's understood that a new news editor is being brought in to revamp the show, with bosses still deciding on presenters.
Last night an ITV spokesman confirmed Christine Bleakley will take over from Holly Willoughby as host of prime time show Dancing On Ice, while Adrian will continue to front a series of football shows.
But bosses declined to comment on rumours they will be leaving the show, simply saying: ‘We are not going to comment on speculation.’
