50 Shades of Grey the movie won't be starring model-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne, according to The Sun.
The 21-year-old with the perfect brows is said to have screen-tested for the role of protagonist Anastasia Steele in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of the hit erotica novel by EL James back in June, but has not been offered the part.
A source told The Sun: 'The lead role was not something that was offered.'
Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is now rumoured to be the frontrunner to play the ingenue lead, and just last week, it was reported that Dakota Johnson, daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, was also a serious contender for the part.
Even though Cara hasn't bagged the lead role, she may still appear in the film. The model made her acting debut in Anna Karenina alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, whose wife Sam is directing the film version of 50 Shades.
Earlier this month, a source told The Sun: '[Cara] is a global icon now and a good actress as well and Sam wants her in the movie – though which part exactly hasn’t been established.'
