3 moments from the Emmys 2016 that you will make you die inside

‘You can go now’…
It may have been sandwiched right in the middle of Fashion Month, but the Emmys Awards 2016 wasn’t going to let a few new season trends and fashion editors high on Popchips kill their vibe.
The Emmys 2016 red carpet was incredible, as expected. Game of Thrones won big, as expected. Dame Maggie Smith won the outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for her role in Downton Abbey, as expected. However there were a few unexpected moments from the awards that left us feeling rather awkward. Very awkward indeed.
Emilia Clarke was told to leave
Game of Thrones had a great day out. The HBO show broke the record for the highest number of Emmy Awards won by any fictional series, ever. Winning 12 gongs on the night, the show now has a staggering total of 38 awards (you can see the full list of Emmy Award winners here). But that means nothing when it comes to managing the red carpet...
‘WE’RE ON THE CLOCK, PEOPLE!’, is the mantra we imagine E! host Guiliana Racic plays on repeat, as she interviews the stars on their way to be seated.
Watch as Emilia Clarke is essentially told to do one, after Guiliana spotted Heidi Klum waiting in the wings…

During the pre-show, Amy Schumer was seen chatting to Guiliana Rancic about wearing a tampon and the like (she was also wearing a Vivienne Westwood gown and Tom Ford shoes, FYI). Yes, because we have periods. However, the TV producers took it upon themselves to save the world from hearing this unsavoury news by bleeping out half of her sentence. Phew. Our dignity and feminine mystique remains in tact.
No one knew how to spell Kit Harington
As part of the Game of Thrones Emmy takeover, Kit Harington was nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a drama series award. And, as the cameras surveyed the room for the nominees, eagle-eyed viewers noticed that they spelt Kit’s name wrong.
