Eminem and Bruno Mars will be the leading contenders at February’s Grammy awards, with a total of seventeen nominations between them. The US rapper tops the list with a whopping 10 nods – which include album and record of the year – while hotshot Mr Mars is close behind which a respectable seven.
The awards were announced in LA yesterday, during a glittering one-hour show, featuring performances from previous winners, as well some of this year’s nominees.
Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and the Black Eyed Peas all took to the stage during the star-studded gig, which saw stars turn up in their hundreds to hear the nominations announcement.
Other possible big winners at the prestigious US music ceremony include Lady Gaga – with a haul of six – Jay-Z, and American country group Lady Antebellum.
But it’s not just about US talent. There were plenty of artists flying the flag for the Brits in the long nominees list.
