The grandson of the late Diana Vreeland, former US Vogue Editor-in-Chief, unveils new beauty label.
Anyone interested in fashion will know the name ‘Diana Vreeland’. The late fashion editor of Harper’s Bazaar (a position she held for a whopping 26 years) and the Editor-in-Chief of US Vogue is quite possibly the most influential fashion editor that has ever lived.
Well, now you can get a piece of her legacy in the form of a collection of five Eau de Parfums, inspired by her travels and exuberant personality.
Mrs. Vreeland’s grandson, Alexander Vreeland, has created a luxury beauty brand, Diana Vreeland Parfums, which launches exclusively at Selfridges on 21 August. These five debut perfumes are tastefully named after quotes from Mrs. Vreeland herself: ‘Extravagance Russe’, ‘Absolutely Vital’, ‘Perfectly Marvellous’, ‘Simply Divine’ and ‘Outrageously Vibrant’.
Each Eau de Parfum is intense and multi-faceted, made to represent Mrs. Vreeland’s exuberant personality and style. Having travelled with her career and subsequently compiled a fascinating set of memoirs and archives, Alexander was able to draw on his late grandmother’s own experiences to create a truly personal collection of fragrances. Even the bottle is super cute – an exotic tassel adds that je ne sais quoi.
Getting your hands on this perfume will certainly up your fashion credentials, and, after all, who wouldn’t want to smell like one of the most powerful women who has ever stepped foot in the fashion industry?
The Eau de Parfums are available in two sizes, 100ml (£180) and 50 ml (£135), from Selfridges and Selfridges.com from 21 August.
