We’re talking a match made in online heaven; the Queen of Dragon’s meets a celebrity make-up artist and YouTube sensation.
We’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve been asked how to recreate Game of Thrones and Terminator Genisys star Emilia Clarke’s make-up from our July issue cover. Thankfully, celebrity make-up artist Monika Blunder who was responsible for Clarke’s super sultry seventies smoky eye look, has filmed a tutorial showing us how to do just that.
Monika Blunder’s flawless make-up style has enabled her to build up an enviable client list of stars such as Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lawrence and Amanda Seyfried (our current August issue cover star), just to name a few.
We’re huge fans of Blunder’s YouTube channel (we’ve copied her Rosie Huntington-Whiteley tutorial more times than we can count). For this video Blunder has teamed up with Karima McKimmie of Shameless Fripperies, an Australian make-up and skincare vlogger with over 100K followers on YouTube. Karima was the ‘chosen one’ to have Emilia Clarke’s smoky heroine look demonstrated on her. We can only dream of this!
This how-to is effortlessly simple and easy to follow. I should know, I sat in from of my mirror last night and did my best to recreate Emilia’s cover look.
Blunder is only right in saying ‘less is more’. She allows the powerful, shimmering smoky eye to stand strong, leaving the skin looking natural yet sculpted and the lips plump with a nude pink.
