Watch Marc Jacobs Beauty Global Makeup Artist Gilbert Soliz create a bronzed base...
When the images of Winona Ryder channelling a classic black and white winged eye were released towards the end of last year, a whole lot of excitement ensued this end. Not only were team MC (and the beauty world as a whole) taken by the stunning make-up created by Diane Kendal, but we were also exceedingly pleased to see a woman over the age of 40 fronting a major beauty campaign.
Fast forward a few months and Marc Jacobs still seems to be on a bit of a winning streak on the make-up front - he finally released his eponymous range into shops in the UK to rapturous reviews in late January, and the newest Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara is the talk of beauty editors and bloggers across the UK for its ability to amp up lashes without any clogging or clumping.
When the beauty desk heard that the Global Makeup Artist for Marc Jacobs Beauty Gilbert Soliz was in town, we knew we had to steal a bit of his time to show us which MJ products we should use to recreate Winona’s look. Naturally, we filmed the process for you to see/replicate in case you loved the look as much as we did.
First up: that base. Bronzed, subtly-contoured and ideal for spring, watch part one of this video series to see Gilbert deploy Marc Jacobs’ finest to diminish flaws, enhance contours and seriously rev up the glow factor. And should you wish to use the exact same products as he did…
