London salon offers haircut for £20,000, despite recession
Top hair stylist Stuart Phillips is offering a daylong hair and pampering treatment costing up to £20,000 at his London salon.
The Covent Garden salon offers everything from full security teams, personal chefs and exotic oils to dog walkers to keep pets entertained.
According to reports in the Daily Mail, the salon is popular with the wives of Russian oligarchs whose wealth has not been affected by the recession.
Mr. Phillips said: ‘Some clients pay £20,000 but for that they get my undivided attention. I am available for the whole day and they have the best of everything.’
The hair stylist famously put a million pounds worth of diamonds in Serena Williams’ hair for a Wimbledon party last year, and was the official stylist for Torvil and Dean for their Dancing on Ice production.
While clients at his salon receive an hour of lifestyle consultation and a shiatsu acupressure head or body massage , their freinds can get a discounted £8,000 hair cut.

Mr Phillips justifies his high prices by comparing them to other luxuries his customers can afford: ‘A client said she will spend £3,000 on a handbag and she has over a hundred.’
