Beauty brand, Origins, furthers its environmental promise
Beauty brand Origins has announced plans to further its environmental promise with a new global reforestation program.
Origins Earth Initiative means that when every Origins™ A Perfect World™ Antioxidant moisturizer with White Tea is sold, Origins will plant a tree.
‘We are so proud of our industry-leading commitment to the planet and the people who populate it,’ said Senior Vice President Jane Lauder. ‘Origins' daily dedication to the environment is reaffirmed by its earth and animal friendly practices, packaging and policies.’
Origins manufactures using a combination of renewable resources, wind energy and earth-friendly practices. And Origins uses recycled materials wherever possible. As a result, Origins has already planted the equivalent to 1.25 million trees.
Additionally, when a new Origins guide is hired, a tree will be planted in their name, and when each new Origins store opens, trees will be planted in its honour.
Just one tree absorbs more than a ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. One tree absorbs about 40lbs of carbon dioxide per year, so if an individual planted 70 trees, they could offset the emissions of a large utility vehicle or automobile.
