There are a few things that you must do when you go to New York; you must visit the landmarks (we’re talking the Empire State, The Statue of Liberty that kind of thing), you have to eat out every single night and sample the pizza, the cheesecake, the steak. We could go on. What can we say, the restaurants in New York are just too good. And you must – you simply must - get a piercing. What, just us?
We’re not the only ones, everyone in the fashion and beauty industry takes advantage of a trip to the Big Apple with a trip to the piercer. New Yorker’s just get it right.
Venus by Maria Tash on Broadway in New York is place to get a piercing. Her Jewellery is oh so covetable. Everyone, and we mean everyone, sports spectacular ear candy in New York and you can bet your last dollar that it (and the hole it’s in) it’s Maria Tash.
Thankfully, now you don’t have to hop over the Atlantic to get the Maria Tash treatment. The jewellery designer and piercer is, for a short time, retailing her jewellery and piercing services in Josh Wood’s flagship atelier in Lansdowne Mews in London. Surely it’s a lot easier to get to London than New York?!
If you’re in the capital during London Fashion Week (18th-22nd September) then stop by the Atelier for some piercing action. The cost of a piercing ranges from £10 for the ear lobe to £20 for a septum and the jewellery itself ranges in price from £25 to £3,000.
No doubt the international fashion elite will be popping by the atelier while they’re in town for the shows. We don’t mind so long as they leave a space for us!
