We came to this conclusion while backstage at the fashion house's SS15 show in Milan. The designer, Jeremy Scott, is over his fast food obsession, this season he's rather taken with Barbie.
Make-up artist Lucia Pieroni told us: 'We're doing Barbie - but a refreshed Barbie. She's fresh and modern, not a drag Queen. She's the original Barbie, chic not trashy. It's a lot of fun doing a show like this.' We bet!
So what does it take to be Barbie these days?
The lips
'We've custom blended the right shade of pink for the lips with MAC Lipmix in Magenta, White and Yellow, £14.50 each. Together they give the lips a real sugary pink, matte finish. On its own it's actually quite wearable,' Pieroni explained. 'But being Barbie it needs to be glossy so we're coating it with gloss right at the very end.'

The lashes
Pieroni then opted for two sets of lashes (she's recreating Barbie, after all) but in the real world, one set will be plenty-enough. You'll look ever so doll like without crossing into plastic territory.
The added sparkle
A light dusting of MAC Mineralize Skin Finish, £23, was applied all over - limbs included - to give skin a polished finish without looking fake.
It's safe to say our love for the doll of our youth has been rekindled, and while the OTT wigs are best left on the catwalk, we're all for mixing-up our own shade of Barbie pink lipstick.
