Shu Uemura have collaborated with designer Markus Lupfer for their latest capsule collection
Where next for a designer who has a decade of London Fashion Week shows under his belt, boasts a celebrity following including Lara Stone and Lily Allen, and has just dressed Madonna for her latest cover? Why, a foray into beauty land, of course.
Following in the hallowed footsteps of endless, renowned international artists – fashion duo Viktor & Rolf, film director Wong Kar-Wai and Japanese artist Aya Takano to name a few – Shu Uemura has announced a collaboration with German-born designer Markus Lupfer.
Staying true to Shu Uemura’s philosophy of cementing the connection between art and beauty, Lupfer says: 'It’s a dream come true for me to collaborate with Shu Uemura. Both our brands have such a similar spirt.'
The limited edition collection is an ode to all things tropical in sorbet mints and pinks, and is instantly recognizable for the inky leopard print from Lupfer’s own spring/summer 2012 collection.
The three pieces - Make-up Palette (available in pink, blue or mint), Eyelash Curlers, Black Gel Eyeliner - start at £10 and are available at Selfridge’s from February 19.
