Madonna’s first perfume, Truth or Dare, will hit shelves in spring 2012
It seems Madonna has finally succumbed to the celebrity fragrance market. The queen of pop revealed she will be launching her first perfume, Truth or Dare, early next spring.
Madonna signed the deal with Coty, announcing the Truth or Dare Eau de Parfum will hit the shelves by May 2012, after debuting exclusively at Macy's the previous month.
The 53-year-old singer revealed to Women's Wear Daily, 'I have always been obsessed by fragrance. And for years I wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well.
'Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name Truth or Dare.'
Trying to contextualise this idea, Madonna wanted the fragrance to smell 'dark and edgy', so has mixed strong woody scents with a vanilla base and soft florals.
The bottle itself looks sophisticated and classic, with edgy modern detailing.
