When we fall in love with beauty products, we fall hard. In fact we have beauty awards dedicated to the products that we are wholeheartedly loyal to. Whether it’s a lipstick that makes teeth look whiter, a fake tan that never streaks or an eyeliner that so easy to apply it could be done in the dark, there are certain products that you would walk over hot coals for.
So there’s nothing, and we mean nothing, more annoying than when a beauty brand decides to discontinue on of your favourites.
When this happens people either take to social media to plead with the beauty house or admit defeat and find a dupe. Sometimes the backlash from diehard devotees is such that the brand listens.
Mac, which recently launched onto mega site ASOS, has taken note and has brought back some of its iconic lip and eye SKUs.
Whilst they’re widely known for their fun (and sometimes wacky) collaborations, the products that are coming back are classic and wearable. They include lip shades Marrakesh, Spanish Fly, Rocker, Bronx, Shrimpton, Skew and Icon. And eye shadows Uninterrupted, Kid, Tete-Tint and Goldbit.
Terry Barber, Mac Director of Makeup Artistry, said, ‘These eye and lip colours, daring as far back as the early 90’s were total game changers when they were originally released. What’s interesting is that they haven’t dated in the slightest!’
