Lily James lands her first ever campaign – and what a way to do it...
Forget magazine covers and leading film roles, landing a major beauty campaign is what really means you’ve made it these days. So Lily James must be feeling pretty chuffed as she’s not only just landed her first ever global campaign, but also succeeded supers Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne in doing so.
Yes, the actress-of-the-moment has just been announced as the poster girl of the My Burberry – the British icon’s fragrance series inspired by the heritage trench.
Lily’s debut will be revealed in August with a gorgeous film and series of images shot by Mario Testino for the global launch of My Burberry Black – a new jasmine, peach nectar and vanilla infused fragrance for women produced in collaboration with Burberry’s Christopher Bailey and renowned perfumer, Francis Kurkdjian.
While the first look will be released later this year we got a sneak peak at the Testino-lensed snaps and we can assure you, she looks absolutely stunning.
Since rising to prominence as the elegant Lady Rose MacClare in Downton Abbey, and global as the fair princess Cinderella in the film of the same name, the English beauty is now the edgy, tossle-waved My Burberry star with a sultry pout to match.
Lily, who is set to play Juliet in a London production of Romeo and Juliet this summer, as well as star in the upcoming film Baby Driver alongside Kevin Spacey, said of the hotly anticipated campaign; “I am thrilled to be officially joining the Burberry family. I am so proud to be British, so it really means a lot. Shooting my first campaign was so special – I don’t want to give away too much but I had a lot of fun showing a different side of myself…”
