Not content with her fashion icon crown, Alexa Chung is now closing in on the world of beauty with her first ambassadorial role for L'Oreal Professional.

The British TV host is the debut face of the firm's professional in-salon hair colour brand INOA, and to celebrate the partnership took part in a shoot for the May issue of Marie Claire, which is out now.

Today we can bring you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at it in this video clip, which sees Alexa join Marie Claire's beauty and style director, Lisa Oxenham, photographer, Albert Giordan, and a team of stylists and make-up artists on the London shoot.

Jose Quijano, INOA colour specialist at Neville Hair & Beauty, was also on hand to style the presenter's new coffee-hued hair after she waved goodbye to her ombre locks. 'Alexa's perfect for the INOA mocha shades,' he says in the video. 'They're designed to work with the client's skin tone, they add texture and a brilliant shine.'

Alexa said of her new beauty role: 'I am delighted to be working with such an iconic brand. L'Oreal Professional is behind some of the amazing looks on the catwalks in London and Paris so I'm really excited to join the team.'

L'Oreal Professional's INOA is the first 100 per cent ammonia-free permanent hair colour, which is available at salons nationwide. The Mocha collection, which Alexa models, is new for spring/summer 2013.
