Glossier, the fashion insiders' favourite new beauty brand, has finally, finally landed in the UK, and is now available to buy on Net-A-Porter. Not yet familiar with the name editors everywhere are buzzing about? Here’s your Glossier dossier…
It’s The Brainchild Of Mega Beauty Blog, IntoTheGloss When the holy grail of beauty blogs, IntoTheGloss, became the go-to place for makeup junkies to air their thoughts on new products, the clever ITG team had an idea. Why not give the pretty people the all products they want, that other beauty giants don’t make? And so, Glossier was born, a New York start-up with a focus on tech and a powder pink twist. Follow them on Instagram, stat.

Its Founder, Emily Weiss, Is A Street Style Queen Glossier’s 30 year-old CEO is Emily Weiss, a fashion industry insider who used to work in magazines, and even had a cameo part in The Hills (you thought you recognised that glorious undercut, right?) Basically every street style picture you’ve ever found to be even remotely Pinteresting is probably of Emily and her incredible Alexander Wang and Louis Vuitton-packed wardrobe.
Everyone’s Raving About The Products Ahh the products. Let’s not forget the most important question of all; is Glossier’s stuff actually any good? They’ve taken (sensible) baby steps in the development process and launched with a modest collection of skin care essentials – think moisturisers, tints and face mists. First to hit Net-A-Porter is their Balm Dotcom, a universal skin salve that, for £30, comes in three perfectly-sized tubes – one for your handbag, one for your desk and one for your bedside table. As the company grows and grows, we predict it won’t be long before the whole range is available on Net, and Glossier will branch into makeup, haircare and beyond.
…And The Packaging’s Pretty Cool Too Every emoji-lined box contains stickers (but of course) and a love letter from Glossier HQ, explaining the ideas and ingredients of their products. Instagramming your #TopShelfie is a trend started by ITG and now everyone’s snapping their pretty pink tubes.
