We'll be buying one for all of the important women in our lives...
It is a truth universally acknowledged that nothing gives a strong confidence boost like a sweep of your best red lipstick. It's bold, bright and attention-grabbing in the best way.
That's why, when they marched in 1912, Elizabeth Arden provided red lipstick to the suffragettes as a symbol of female emancipation and power.
In the same spirit of empowerment, and to honour the brand's philanthropic March On campaign, the brand has just released a fire-engine red lipstick – appropriately titled 'Red Door Red' – that pops against every skin tone.
Each lipstick is also signed by brand ambassador and Marie Claire's April cover star, Reese Witherspoon. Not a bad idea for a last-minute Mother's Day Gift, we say...
March On encourages women to gift the lipstick to other women, just as Ms Arden did over 100 years ago. And in news that's particularly prominent on International Women's Day, 100% of the proceeds from sales will go to UN Women.
Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Lipstick in Red Door Red, £22, elizabetharden.co.uk
'Elizabeth Arden was founded by a woman who was dedicated to empowering other women. Let's keep that tradition going', the brand's campaign page reads.

You'd better snap one up soon, though, because the lipstick is limited edition – and with a campaign this pro-women, we predict a sell-out.
