When it comes to royal weddings, we think we know it all. From the hefty price tags on their designer wedding dresses, to the exact flavours that go into the cake, we are intrigued by every last detail.
But what about when it comes to a royal lady's preferred scent? Many brides chose to create and wear a completely unique wedding day perfume, whereas others want the comfort of their signature scent as they say 'I do'. And it seems that the women in the royal household have similarly differing ideas about what makes the perfect perfume to compliment their big day. While they could have simply opted for a product with the official royal seal of approval, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana and Kate Middleton all chose something a little different.
With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tying the knot this weekend, we can only assume that one of the former Suits actor's favourite fragrances will be her go-to on the big day.

Queen Elizabeth II wedding day perfume
Queen Elizabeth's wedding day perfume has never officially been confirmed, but many have speculated that she wore White Rose by Floris. The Telegraph believes that her favourite scent is this Floris product because it reminds her of carnations, her favourite flower. It is a brand that has reportedly been royally approved for close to two centuries. Fancy.

Princess Diana's wedding day perfume
Diana opted for her favourite perfume on her big day, Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant Paris. According to Brides, as Diana walked down the aisle she was desperately trying to hide a stain on her wedding dress as just before she was about to leave she happened to spill some of the perfume on herself. Of course, everyone was far to bedazzled by her now-iconic dress to notice.

Kate Middleton's wedding day perfume
Clarence House confirmed that when Kate said 'I do' to Prince William in 2011, she was wearing White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum. The small brand behind the soft, floral scent became a huge name almost overnight with reports that every 50ml bottle sold out within minutes of the announcement that the Duchess had worn it.
It's still difficult to get hold of, but Illuminum's Rose Oud eau de parfum is another of the brand's best sellers.

She alternates between several scents, but counts Oribe's Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum and both the Wild Bluebell and Wild Bluebell and Wood Sage & Sea Salt Colognes by Jo Malone as her trusted favourites.
