Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been voted the UK's number 1 beauty icon for 2014
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been voted the UK's number 1 beauty icon for 2014
It's official. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is the UK's top beauty icon for 2014. The yearly survey by Superdrug has been topped by Kate Middleton since 2011, but the Duchess has been usurped by the pop princess this time around.
The news marks the end of a great year for Cheryl, who has made a triumphant return to the X-Factor, married new beau, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini and released a chart-topping album, Only Human.
A Superdrug spokesperson said: 'Our customers definitely take their cues from Cheryl, she’s a natural beauty not afraid to try the latest beauty trends and always looks completely polished.'
'In fact our customers are so inspired by her that her debut perfume, launched earlier this year, has already secured itself as our number three bestselling celebrity scent.'
Former MC cover star, Cheryl took 30% of the votes (of the 2,000 women asked), seeing Kate Middleton knocked down to second place. Ex-Coronation Street star, Michelle Keegan, Holly Wiloughby and Angelina Jolie all made the top five. Dame Helen Mirren, Emma Watson, Beyoncé, Nicole Scherzinger and Jennifer Lawrence finished off the top ten and MC cover star, Pixie Lott entered the top 20 for the first time.
