The iconic fashion house have just dropped their AW17 makeup collection and it's major...
Chanel’s Fall Winter 17 makeup collection lands in-store and online today and we’re pretty sure the whole range is going to be on your Christmas make-up wish list.
Inspired by a Californian road trip taken by Chanel’s Global Creative Makeup and Colour Designer Lucia Pica each product in the range is reflective of the light, feel and mood of snapshots that Lucia captured on her trip around Cali.
Working from her snapshots Lucia Pica picked her favourite tones and hues to create the 24-piece collection. The new Chanel AW17 makeup collection is made up of 6 brow pencils, 4 lipsticks, 3 compact palettes, 2 eye palettes, 2 mono shadows, 2 liquid lipsticks, 2 nail varnishes, 1 liquid liner and 2 retractable makeup brushes.
We road-tested everything in the collection and these were our favourites…
Chanel Palette Essentielle, £52
If your budget will only stretch to one product, make it this. Think of the Palette Essentielle as a streamlined version of your makeup bag. It’s a 3-in-1 face saver that combines a balm-like concealer, a light-reflecting highlighter and a creamy blush into one handy compact. It’s small enough to fit in your clutch (or even your pocket) making it the ideal companion for your next night out.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in First Light, £28
A hint of neon in this classic red makes lips really pop for a statement pout. Mimicking the flash of colour that spreads across the sky just before the sunsets Lucia wanted to recreate that universally flattering, sunkissed shade in lipstick form. The matte bullet glides on easily without drying out lips and stays in place til morning.
Chanel Les 4 Ombres in Road Movie, £42
A palette of two halves, cool and warm tones combine in this clever eyeshadow quad so you can create multiple shadow looks to match your mood. If you’re feeling mysterious go for the cool toned emerald green and charcoal grey or for something a little more subtle wash the beige over your socket and use the shimmery bronze to highlight the inner corner of your eye. Great for the office and for date night, it’s a double yes from us.
Chanel Le Vernis in Horizon Line, £20
‘The exact point where the sea meets the sky’ was the shade Lucia Pica aimed to create with Horizon Line. The result? Grey with a twist of green. Sounds a bit strange but looks effortlessly cool. Forget nudes, this is the hottest nail shade you can wear for Autumn.
