Chanel No 5 re-launches its bestselling fragrance, fronted by Gisele, just in time for Christmas
Chanel No 5 is quite possibly the most famous fragrance in the world. Instantly recognisable and synonymous with elegance, it's no wonder that this best-selling perfume is re-launching in time for Christmas, with a brand new campaign. And it's Brazilian supermodel, Gisele, who takes over from Nicole Kidman to feature in the short film, which launches today.
Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the film is an update on the classic Chanel woman: 'A modern woman who knows what she wants and is free to make her own decisions'. The film features Gisele as the 21st Century female, which is perfect considering her many talents (model, actress and mother, to name just a few), who is struggling to find space for everything in her life, but essentially chooses love to conquer all. Titled 'The One That I Want' and featuring an update on the song of the same name by Lo-Fang, the short film is not to be missed.
Chanel have also created three accompanying pieces in the No 5 line: A bath soap, body lotion and loose powder. Each product is delicately scented with the No 5 fragrance and beautifully packaged in gold and glass cases to light up your dressing table. In fact, we think these could be the perfect stocking filler, with the bottled fragrance making the ultimate Christmas gift for a loved one.
Chanel No 5 is so unique, because it has no discernible dominant notes. Blends of Ylang Ylang, Grasse Jasmine and May Rose, enhanced by Aldehydes make up the classic, mysterious scent. Make sure to drop plenty of hints in time for the festive season, to make sure this iconic bottle is sitting under your tree on Christmas Day.
