Cara Delevinge and Kate Moss back together!
Rimmel London has just confirmed that supermodel-turned-actress Cara Delevingne will be joining Kate Moss, Georgia May Jagger and Rita Ora as a new ambassador for the brand.
Completing what is now a pretty epic line-up of supers, Cara will join original London cool girl Kate, who has been the face of Rimmel for over 15 years, and runway pal Georgia - who was first appointed face of the brand in 2009 - in a series of upcoming make-up and beauty campaigns.
Confirming the news in London today, Cara has said in a statement: “I’m honoured to be working with Rimmel. It’s the first make-up brand I was introduced to as a teenager. I’m a London girl through and through and Rimmel truly captures and represents the city’s edgy, cosmopolitan beauty styles.”
The news comes after Cara recently took to social media to clear-up rumours that she had left the modelling business for good. Discussing her battles with mental health in the post as well, the star explained that she had suffered from a particularly rough bout of depression during the peak of her runway career, which sparked her decision to take a break and explore her interest in acting.
However, Cara’s upcoming Rimmel campaigns are set to focus on her trendsetting style and individual beauty. Do we sense yet another brow revolution on the horizon?
Talking about the appointment, Johanna Bussinelli, Chief Marketing Officer of Colour Cosmetics at Coty, which owns the Rimmel brand, tells WWD: “I think it’s so rare for a beauty brand to find such a natural face as an ambassador. We are very fortunate to have Kate Moss but Cara is also a fantastic fit.

“We pick people who don’t need any customisation and I think that is one of the key points. Cara Delevingne is a true British woman and she has true British style - a classic beauty and she also has this imitable attitude.”
Montse Passolas, Vice President of Global Marketing at Rimmel London, also adds: “Cara’s personality and attitude are the key factors and that is what we want to bring with this ambassadorial role for Rimmel.
“She complements our ambassadors; we have as you know Kate Moss, Georgia May Jagger and Rita Ora. We will continue with them because they bring different backgrounds, different achievements of women.
“They are all strong, self-made women and they have outstanding personalities that complement perfectly each other.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
Already firm friends, Cara and Kate famously fronted Burberry's signature fragrance together as well as fashion campaigns for Mango, while Cara and Rita have previously worked together on ads for DKNY.
