Thinking of venturing out for after work drinks tonight? Yeah, I was too.
I use the past tense because this morning I naively downloaded this sneaky new app called The Drinking Machine that shows you just what’ll happen to your face if you continue drinking at your current rate.

Everyone knows by now that drinking alcohol ages the skin way beyond its years, but it’s such a long, drawn out process that if you’re like me, you don’t really comprehend the full ramifications. So forensic artist Auriole Price developed this app to give an idea. It’s actually rather clever, being that it plays on our vanity rather than health. Hands up if you care more about your face than your liver?
So I uploaded a recent picture of me like this:

Then calculated what I’d look like in 10 years if I had two drinks every day and what seems like a harmless tipple, actually has pretty damaging effects.

So I pushed it a little to see what would happen if I had a bottle of red wine (my fave) every night and scary doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Now obviously it’s showing you the extreme, and for most of us it’s a once a week treat and not every night. But still, it’s a warning if ever there was one.
Perhaps I’ll just invite the girls over for a cup of tea instead…
