Political commentator Andrew Marr was rushed to hospital on Tuesday after suffering a stroke
Andrew Marr, who is an expert at putting politicians through their paces on his Sunday morning TV show, The Andrew Marr Show, has suffered a stroke and was rushed to hospital earlier this week.
ANDREW MARR REVEALS GAGGING ORDER OVER HIS AFFAIR
The BBC have confirmed the 53-year-old was seen by doctors on Tuesday and is now responding to treatment. The official statement from the corporation where Andrew also hosts Radio 4’s Start The Week read:
‘Andrew Marr was taken ill yesterday and taken to hospital. The hospital confirmed he has had a stroke.
‘His doctors say he is responding to treatment. His family have asked for their privacy to be respected as he recovers.’
While the presenter recovers, the BBC stressed his programmes will still be shown but with stand-in hosts.

The statement continued: ‘We will continue to broadcast The Andrew Marr Show and Radio 4's Start The Week with guest presenters in his absence.
‘His colleagues and the whole BBC wish him a speedy recovery.’
A friend of Andrew’s told The Telegraph that he was able to speak but that his recovery was ‘still at a very early stage.’
