A two-year trip visiting all 962 World Heritage sites has gone on sale
March is apparently the month that most of us start dreaming of sunnier climes (personally, I started picturing myself on a golden beach, mai tai in hand, around New Year's Day), and planning our big trips for the year ahead.
If you're currently looking for some holiday inspiration, or are planning to take a sabbatical to go on a grown-up gap year, we've got just the trip for you.
Luxury website VeryFirstTo.com are offering a two-year trip visiting every single World Heritage site that there is. That's 962 to be precise.
Destinations on The Ultimate Journey include: Mexico’s ancient city of Monte Alban; the sensational Taj Mahal in India; Petra the symbol of Jordan; Cambodia’s exotic Angkor temples; Spain’s Moorish Alhambra; the Great Pyramids; China’s enchanting Forbidden City and Peru’s Machu Picchu sitting 8.000 ft above sea level.
This won't be a backpackers adventure by any means. Business class travel is the minimum standard and, rather than hostels with questionable stains on the mattresses, hotels such as Sandy Lane in Barbados, the Hotel George V in Paris, The Plaza in New York, The Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, Cipriani Hotel in Venice and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Moscow will all be on the agenda.
But, before you hand your notice in, there is one small catch: it comes with a £920,000 price tag.
Sigh.
