Most of us have spent an evening over a glass of wine debating an amazing business idea or carving out our dream career.
But putting it into practice is another thing completely. However, Marie Claire is here to help! We have signed up six amazing women from fields including media, TV, food and fashion to mentor six lucky readers over the next few months.
Our final mentor is top BBC news presenter Mishal Husain, who has covered key stories from the Iraq War and 2003 Istanbul bombings to the success of our athletes at London 2012.
Husain, 40, was training to be a lawyer when she decided to switch careers. 'I realised halfway through my course that it wasn't for me,' she says. 'Journalism was very different, as there was no set path and most places didn't offer work experience. I watched the credits of news programmes and wrote letters to people I admired, asking to come in.
'The BBC's legal correspondent, Dr Joshua Rozenberg, said yes, let me shadow him in court and introduced me to people. This helped me realise I was more suited to broadcast rather than print journalism and helped me launch my career.'
Husain says her success strategy is 'stepping out of my comfort zone and be willing to take on new projects even if it involves a lot of extra work and preparation.'
