Brides-to-be and wedding planners, there’s a new shopping tool in your arsenal courtesy of Amazon. The online retailer announced just last week that they've launched a romantic new department called the Handmade Wedding Shop, which collates together all the best wedding-related products on the site from invitations to cake toppers.
The new branch is part of their initiative Handmade at Amazon, a subsection of the site which highlights independent handicrafters, and treads into Etsy’s usual territory. You’ll be able to find everything from cute personalised gifts for guests to handmade jewellery for the bride, plus some of them are even eligible with Amazon Prime’s speedy two day delivery scheme.
Handmade at Amazon’s Katie Harnetiaux said, ‘We created the Handmade Wedding Shop with the savvy couple in mind. From rustic chic, to glitz and glam, the Wedding Shop is a one-stop destination for customers to discover a vast selection of customized products for their big day.’
‘The ability to purchase products from local artisans on the Handmade Wedding Shop offers customers a boutique shopping experience coupled with the convenience and selection of Handmade at Amazon.’
Besides the Handmade Wedding Shop, Amazon also has an in-built wedding wish list app for couples to select products and send off to their guests. All couples have to do is set one up on their dedicated page, then their friends can search for their desired wedding gifts by simply typing their names into the system.
Unfortunately, it seems like Amazon UK users may have to sit on their hands for a little while. While the Handmade Wedding Shop feature is going strong on the American site, a spokesperson for the British iteration let us know that the wedding shop wouldn't be crossing the pond any time soon. Guess it's back to the drawing board on this one...
