Attracting people from around the world the SummerTyne Americana festival is one of the most important annual Americana events in Europe.
Back for it's seventh year The Sage Gateshead on the south bank of the river Tyne will be rocked by some of America's best loved music from Friday 20th July to Sunday 22nd July 2012.
This year, five-time Grammy winner and described by The Times as a 'true American original,' Dr John will headline the festival, having just released his critically acclaimed album Locked Down, produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach.
Identifying new and emerging artists too, listen out for the pure tones of Amy Speace and Lera Lynn.
'SummerTyne has become one of, if not the premier Americana live event in the UK,' says Board President of the Americana Music Association, David Macias.
'It gives the Americana Music Association a fantastic forum from which to educate people about the music we love.'
