At the hub of Sevilles old town, these super-swish self-catering apartments offer cool chic and deep comfort
Hidden away amongst the plexus of labyrinthine streets that make up Seville’s Santa Cruz quarter, a stone’s throw east of the exquisite Giralda tower beside the extraordinary Gothic cathedral, Las Suites del Maestro is a great choice if you prefer the flexibility of catering for yourself, yet want to be at the heart of the action.
The 6 apartments, some sleeping two, others four, are dedicated to various flamenco artists, and the two on the top floor have terraces from where you can almost reach out and touch the cathedral. Building on the success of sister hotel La Casa del Maestro, the decoration of the suites shares similar elements: buff marble floors, bright colour schemes, a predominance of red, rich fabrics, top-notch fittings and superb beds and sofas.
Susani wall hangings from Turkey, Indian cushions, Moroccan lamps and geometric screens add a whiff of Arabian Nights to sitting rooms, whilst in the kitchenettes contemporary designer chic is to the fore.
The geography of the long and narrow building means bedrooms and shower rooms are really quite small, but there are large areas of unused space in the long open-plan lounge/diners.
Las Suites del Maestro in Seville is made up of six apartments for 2-4 people, with apartments costing from €135 on a room only basis.
