Planning on joining the jet set of celebrities and film buffs descending on this year's Cannes festival? Treat yourself to a moment of solace between the parties, premiers and screenings and check in for an afternoon at the luxurious spa of the five star Le Mas Candille hotel.
Situated in Mougins, a medieval village 10 minutes away from the heart of buzzing Cannes, just entering through the gates of this little Provencal hideaway itself will leave you sighing with relief as you leave the madness of the festival town nearby.
Here you can easily spend the afternoon being pampered with a range of treatments before a healthy pool side lunch of fresh fish, salad and home baked bread with herbal tea (or glass of vintage champagne to ease the hangover if you prefer).
The spa, a favourite with A-list celebrities from Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis (who check in for last minute treatments before treading the red carpet) is situated in the sprawling grounds of the hotel amidst a forest with breathtaking views.
The treatments aim to stimulate your mind and body energy, encouraging deep relaxation and restoring the skin. Massages and facials use a combination of oshiboris, Japanese hot towels that literally melt stresses and strains away, and shiatsu massage which focuses on the body’s energy flow.
We loved the Ultimate Candille Zen treatment. It lasts an hour and a half and begins with a Provencal white sand and lavender body scrub to gently exfoliate skin, followed by a full body massage with jade stones. Tack on one of their infamous facials to leave your skin glowing.
