1. Carols by Candlelight, St Paul's Cathedral, London Breast Cancer Care is hosting an atmospheric carol concert in the glorious surroundings of St Paul's. Carols will be sung by the superb Cathedral Choir, and there will be celebrity readings and festive snacks available after the concert. Those who wish to spend more can have a champagne supper in the Crypt. December 17; 7pm; from £30
2. A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at King's College Chapel, Cambridge This famous Christmas Eve service is broadcast to millions across the world. But be warned, you'll need to queue at the main entrance to King's College from 7.30am to get a seat. December 24; 3pm; Free
3. York Minster Christmas Carol Concerts, York These popular carol concerts will feature singing from the York Minster Choir, one of the UK’s leading choirs, and will include a wide variety of readings. 5-6 December; 7-8.30pm; £12-25

Christmas with Durham Cathedral Choir, Durham Set in one of the UK's oldest cathedrals, this candlelit concert of carols and seasonal music is a unique opportunity to hear the girl and boy choristers of Durham Cathedral Choir sing together with the gentlemen of the Choir. 14 December; 7.30pm; £6-22
5. Christmas Carol Singalong, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester An informal opportunity to drop into the Cathedral for a few minutes to sing a carol or two.
