Sweet treats for stylish sugar addicts in one of London's chicest bars
Where? The May Fair Bar, The May Fair Hotel, Stratton Street, Mayfair, London, W1J 8LT (020 7915 3894, www.themayfairhotel.co.uk)
Not one for those on a diet then? It might be calorie laden, however, this naughty but nice treat was actually originally created as a London Fashion Week special (The May Fair being the official hotel of LFW), but proved so popular with fashionistas in need of a pep up between catwalk shows, it's now a permanent fixture on the May Fair Bar's menu
A shortcut route to a sugar high? Absolutely. Choose your tipple of choice - a Peach Iced Tea perhaps, or a Peppermint Tea Martini (a little like alcoholic, melted ice cream) - and your cupcakes will be picked to match. If you opt for the Caramel Espresso Martini, for instance, you can expect chocolate-smothered cakes and maybe a chocolate-dipped strawberry on the side, after which, believe you me, you won't sleep for about a week!
Need to know? Prices start from £20 and, to ensure there's an appropriately skilled pastry chef on site, bookings are a must.
