There are dating sites for everyone these days, but now a new site, Loveflutter, will only let you join if you're ‘interesting’. Here’s the lowdown on the latest online dating tool.
What is it? Loveflutter is a new dating site that only wants to cater for ‘interesting’ people, who share the same quirky loves, likes and hobbies. It wants its users to experience what it calls a ‘loveflutter’, that ‘magical feeling of excitement’ you apparently get on great dates.
Who set it up? East London entrepreneur Daigo Smith set up Loveflutter last month, after going on a series of boring online dates that lacked chemistry. He and his co-founder then asked a psychologist to work out what single people find most appealing about potential partners, and being ‘interesting’ topped the list.
How does it work? To weed out any supposedly boring types, Loveflutter asks all potential users to take a QI, or ‘Quirky Interesting’, Test. You have to sign in via Facebook to take the test, but Loveflutter promises not to share your results with your friends. There are 10 questions to answer, ranging from whether you’ve ever done a bungee jump to how many people ‘liked’ your last status. If you score over 67 per cent, you’re in. Below that and Loveflutter won’t let you join.
How much is it? You can sign up for free, create your profile and browse for potential dates. You can also discover who’s interested in you, receive messages and check out your ‘interest matches’. If you like what you see, you can then upgrade your account on a pay-as-you-go basis or become a 'VIP’ member for £29.99 a month.
Who’s using it? The site is said to already have over 2,000 members, but we’ll leave it up to you to work out whether they are actually ‘interesting’.
