With an estimated net worth of around $80 million, Christie Brinkley isn’t exactly hard up. But now that the 1970s supermodel has put her Hamptons home up for sale for $25 million, it won’t be long until that figure skyrockets even further.
Having bought the property for $7.15million back in 2004, 62-year-old Christie is set to make a sizeable profit on the family home that she has owned for 18 years.
Every inch the mansion, the 11,000 square foot property sits within 20 private acres and overlooks Sag Harbor Bay, making it one of the most desirable houses in the neighbourhood (and one of the best celebrity homes we've ever seen.)
Built in 1843, the five-bedroom, five-bathroom house is filled with period features such as hardwood floors, wood-burning fireplaces and wide plank pine floors. Meanwhile outside, the white-columned exterior overlooks a pretty garden, private swimming pool and 327ft of beautiful beachfront.
Christie previously put the house up for sale in 2010 for a more modest $15.75million, but decided to take it off the market when it failed to sell and complete some renovation work on the property.
But now it’s back up for sale, although estate agent Enzo Morabito of Douglas Elliman Real Estate told the Wall Street Journal that the property does still need some further work.

While it might sound like a steep price tag for a property that needs improvement, Mr Morabito explained that the inflated asking price reflected the skyrocketing value of waterfront homes in the East Hamptons – particularly ones like Christie’s which are large, on the water and close to the shops and restaurants of Sag Harbor Village.
‘If it didn’t need work, I would list for around $40million,’ he said.
According to Mr Morabito, Christie has decided to sell the property in order to downsize now that her children are off at college.
Looks like we’re going to have to start saving pronto.
