The Drew Barrymore boiled egg hack changes breakfast forever

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but cooking it is a real pain first thing in the morning. Given that it turns out most Brits’ cooking skills leave something to be desired (one in five admitted that they couldn’t even boil an egg), Drew Barrymore’s simple hack is worth trying out if you’re in a rush.
The Santa Clarita Diet actress posted a snap on Instagram of some perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs, captioning it ‘Next snack, 15 minute hard boil in hot water, no flame’.
It’s one of her more popular posts on Instagram with over 30,000 fans liking the image and chiming in in the comments, grilling her for her tips. One fan asked, ‘how did you make them, did you just put them in the water kettle?’
While we’re no hard-boiled egg experts, the foodies over at Delish seemed to have cracked the hack. According to them, all you have to do is leave the eggs in a pot of pre-boiled water (either from a tap or heated in a microwave) and let science take over for the next fifteen minutes. After that, gently lift them out of the water with a ladle or spoon, let them cool off and get to peeling.
While it sounds almost too simple to be true, one of her fans confirmed in the comments ‘I do that at work if I didn’t have time in the morning at home ??people at work freak out that it actually works ?’.
Drew Barrymore has previously dabbled in veganism, though it seems like in recent months she's adopted a more vegetarian diet. The eco-conscious star brings her environmentally-minded ethos to different aspects of her life, including her beauty line Flower which is completely cruelty-free.

Beyond her strenuous egg-boiling duties, Drew Barrymore has been pretty busy acting in and executive producing her Netflix series The Santa Clarita Diet. The show, which revolves around a married couple, zombies and a lot of gore, has just been confirmed for a second series.
