Could this historic town be the most Instagrammable spot in Sicily?

Why you need to go to Cefalu, stat...
With the beautiful town of Cefalu right on your doorstep, the panoramic views of the historic village namely the grand Cathedral visible from the hilltops the newly renovated Club Med hotel, taking a trip to Cefalu was the experience of a lifetime. Totally redefining the meaning of all-inclusive luxury and the perception of Club Med, I was lucky enough to attend the grand opening of Club Med Cefalu...
Why go?
Perched on the top of the most beautiful mountain overlooking the clear blue water of the Mediterranean Sea, the resort offers up the perfect mashup of traditional Cefalu life and Club Med luxury. If lounging by the infinity pool with a cocktail, attentive staff and views of the sea doesn't sound like your thing, the hotel offers water sports (including electric surfboarding!), spa treatments, morning yoga on paddle boards and full gym facilities to keep you occupied.
Of course, just a short stroll away is the historic city of Cefalu, soaked in tradition and culture with the cathedral at its heart. The winding cobbled streets are perfect to spend an afternoon exploring local life. I would wholeheartedly recommend sampling the Italian gelato; it’s homemade on the island and is on another level to anything I've tasted back home.
The vibe
My own private secluded villa was beyond breathtaking. Featuring a massive roll top bath, floor to ceiling windows in a huge open plan room, the villa offered up stunning views of the ocean and a private lounge area outside to soak in the surroundings. The design was sleek and minimalist with touches of traditional Cefalu design, there were indulgence spa lotions and candles to make my stay even more perfect
Being that that new Club Med Cefalù is the brand's first 5 star resort in Europe and part of their exclusive collection, it didn’t disappoint. The entertainment during my stay was incredible and the party by the beach was… well, my Instagram shot below speaks for itself!
You really must
Try everything the Club Med experience has to offer! From racing through the mountains in a Fiat on an adventure trail, just try not to get lost and make sure the sat-nav’s in English, to luxurious spa treatments, I had the full body massage which was the perfect way to unwind and set the tone for the holiday. If water sports are your thing, then you must try the electric surfboard, no waves required this amazing piece of tech simulates waves and makes it possible to glide through the ocean at astronomical speeds! My friend Lee was incredibly good at it and got up the first time!

For those wanting a calmer water experience, I would suggest the morning paddleboarding yoga, nestled in a quiet bay you get to enjoy the early morning sunshine whilst practicing your best downward dog. If you are not a morning person then don’t fret as afternoon paddleboarding is perfect for gentle exercise after lunch. We even got to explore some hidden caves close to the bay.
Dine at
This place is a serious foodie destination, with Michelin starred Chef Andrea Berton taking the lead to produce an array of traditional pasta and seafood dishes that were delicious. Even though it was buffet style in the main restaurant each dish looked handcrafted, with excellent attention to detail not just to the taste but presentation was key to make your dining experience feel extra special.
