The idea of a supermodel wardrobe raid sounds like something from one of your wildest fashion dreams (scrolling through Instagram just before hitting the pillow can do that) - but it's about to become reality. Step forward, Toni Garrn. The supermodel did an exclusive shoot with Marie Claire for our October issue to celebrate her Supermodel Flea Market coming to London - and now the wait is (nearly) over. The Toni Garrn charity sale goes live online at Vestiaire Collective this Thursday, and a pop-up shop opens in London next weekend - with Toni herself on hand for all-important style advice/selfies* (*delete as appropriate) on opening morning. Sharpen your elbows! And get your mouse at the ready! Now there's a fashion challenge for you...
The idea for the sale came about when she noticed that the wardrobes of her model friends were all full to bursting point with amazing pieces accumulated on shoots and sent to them from brands and fashion designer pals. So far, so #FirstWorldProblem. But she decided to turn it into a way of improving the lives of girls in the Third World by leaning on her friends and fashion brands themselves to donate their hottest pieces. She's been hosting the Toni Garrn charity sale 'Supermodel Flea Market' annually in New York for the last three years.
All proceeds go to the Toni Garrn Foundation, which she started after volunteering for the NGO Plan International, and which supports education for girls in Zimbabwe.
The good news for us is that this year, the Toni Garrn charity sale is going global, with a central London pop-up opening in Covent Garden from Friday 10th-Sunday 12th November, with a mega selection of 500 pieces on sale. A further 100 pieces will hit the leading pre-loved designer site Vestiaire Collective this Thursday. "We're honoured to work with Toni to make her pop-ups not only bigger, but also globally available, whilst at the same time empowering girls by helping them access the education they deserve," says Vestiaire's Fanny Moizant. Prices start from £35 (and go up to £4,000 if you fancy a real splurge with feel-good factor).
"For the past two years, I've been holding flea market pop-ups in NYC, selling clothes donated by my model friends and from my own wardrobe," Garrn told us. "I always wanted to take the sale global and for it to have an online presence - so anyone can participate and own a piece from their favourite models' closet, and do something good at the same time!"
For the last few weeks, Toni's Instagram feed has been full of tantalising snaps of her hard at work curating the sale, and flashbacks to previous years with model pals like Karlie Kloss:

This year, everyone from Naomi Campbell, Jourdan Dunn, Kate Upton and Gisele Bundchen have donated pieces - and if you're worried that you might not quite be able to shimmy your hips into supermodel-size skinny jeans, there are plenty of pieces donated by fashion brands in a range of sizes too.
Of course, you'll want to be armed with a plan of attack. Here's a sneak peek at some of the star buys...
Toni Garrn's Vetements hoodie
Laura Bailey's Vilshenko dress
Gisele Bundchen's Givenchy knit
Toni's Celine bracelet
Naomi Campbell's Givenchy slip dress
Poppy Delevingne's vintage velvet dress
Bella Freud's specially-designed tee
So much more glamorous than raiding your best friend's wardrobe. And we weren't really getting a warm, pay-it-forward glow last time we did that, either. We'll fight you for all the best bits...
