Nude delights and plenty of frills at Stella McCartney

The British will do a lot to make sure they don't miss a Stella McCartney show and yesterday that meant getting up at 4am for the 5.25am Eurostar trip to Paris.

London's St Pancras terminal was full of sleepy fashion folk, already in their show-going outfits but with boring flat shoes on the bottom.

Fast-forward a few hours, flats discarded and heels in place, Paris' Palais de Tokyo was packed to the rafters, even Gwyneth Paltrow had made the trip, sitting front row with Stella's dad, Paul (although I doubt somehow she'd shared the same train as the rest of us).

The show itself was a delight, packed with covetable, classic Stella items, all infused with a Seventies, summer holiday vibe; a little Abigail's Party if you will.

Standout pieces for the MC team included a gorgeous white shirt worn with knee-length denim skirt ('How can something simple look so beautiful?' was the first thing anyone uttered as we clamboured back in the van afterwards.) A pair of shorts, worn with off-the-shoulder jumper also featured on the wishlist, followed shortly afterwards by the beautiful tailored jackets (a nude version expertly modeled by Gwynnie front row) and the slouchy loose trousers they were paired with.
